A chair with wings!

Paragliding practice and flying over the beautiful area of Trièves, in Isère, if you are handicapped, is possible with the association Free Mouse, of Jose Ruiz; and also, hikes, mountain bike and other sports of mountain. All together!

Jose Ruiz has always lived in the mountains and from the mountains. He was about to become a High Mountain Guide, when an accident forced him to reconsider his life and imagine it from a wheel chair. But it was without taking into account the wonderful energy of this man who did not see himself living differently and who was a winner and had the feeling of the challenge in his blood.

Today, he is the leader of all keen lovers of mountains sports and paragliding, and has them flying over the solid ranges of Dèvoluy, Vercors, Champsaur…

Parapente - Photo Association Free Mousse - Le Layon

For that purpose, he had manufactured special chairs, so that everyone can fly, the valid ones and those who are less valid. It is a Grenoble-native craftsman who launched into the activity of the development of special chairs. Thanks to Evolucycle, no-one remains on the ground looking at others enjoying themselves.

Free Mouse was the first association in France to develop training courses for paragliding for handicapped people. It is relayed today by the Handicare section of the Fèdèration Française de Vol Libre (French Federation of Hang-gliding). To take part, you just have to be a group of at least four autonomous pilots, i.e. a band of buddies who like to enjoy themselves together.

It is the association which provides the armchairs for handicapped people and the Gite Le Layon is entirely designed to adapt to the handicap, but without ostentation. (This latter has obtained the label Tourisme & Handicap for physical and mental deficiencies). Here, the Master word is co-education.

Evolucyle and Free Mouse also worked out the F4T (special Trièves mountain chair) for the amateurs of mountain bike and a harness chair for hikes is under project.

Training courses over 5 days can be organized upon request, starting from 150€/person for 1 group of 6 people and 300€ with a monitor BEES (National diploma of Sport monitor), with lodging in a gîte for one week, shuttle with driver, chair and supervision.
