Our tour begins with the Golf du Verger , created in 1977 by Jacques de Prèneuf, in an orchard which he owned.
Marvellously situated in verdant and frankly appetizing countryside, its heart wavers between Vienne and Lyon. The golf course is in fact at equal distance from the two cities (only fifteen minutes) and its exceptional drainage makes it possible to play all year long.
Just for a pleasant change you can also take advantage of the Escapade offers, like the one which proposes exploring three golf courses during three days and which opens new horizons to the clubs.
So, rendezvous at the Verger to enjoy its lines of trees and its greens well protected by shrewdly situated bunkers.
But also along two other golf-courses in the Forez, that of Saint- Etienne and its great training centre with about one hundred training posts, and that of Savigneux surfing between greenery and smooth stretches of water.
Participants are very well treated at La Bourbonnaise restaurant and at Yves Thollot’s whose gastronomic restaurant is only five minutes away from the Savigneux golf club.
Another golf-course, another bottle-green joy, at the Mionnay golf club, completely open now in the heart of the Dombes. If Mionnay reminds you of Alain Chapel’s restaurant it is because you are at a stone’s throw from it and there is no better program than finishing the day with a nice dinner. Golfing is easily and almost systematically conjugated with the art of living.
