A Pavilion more than perfect
16 Sept 2010
Tweet

By settling their headquarters just a step from Charbonnières casino in a bucolic environment, the Pavillon de la Rotonde, its Spa and Philippe Gauvreau’s restaurant are part of the most prestigious establishment in Lyon. Five stars for the hotel, two Michelin stars for the restaurant, an entry in the Relays & Castles in 2011 and nine hundred square meters of well-being. Who can say better!

Pavillon de la Rotonde

The Pavillon de la Rotonde story is above all a story of loyalty. In 1993, the young chef Philippe Gauvreau, coached by Jacques Maximin, took over La Rotonde kitchens, the luxurious restaurant installed in the premises of what would become very quickly the first casino in France.

It goes without saying that the Partouche group gave him free reign to become a great table of importance. He is associated, for the dining room, with Frédéric Fass who comes from the Mère Brazier and with Alain Gousse, a talented wine steward.

Pavillon de la Rotonde

The trio will take this great house to the summit and, since 2009, supervised by Frédéric who is now the manager; a 5-star hotel which has been added to the restaurant, which took the name of its chef. At the end of 2010, Relays & Castles has admitted the Pavillon de la Rotonde to its prestigious international guide book and Philippe Gauvreau has joined the very exclusive club of the great chefs of the chain.

Thanks to this tremendous success which is really the work of all three of them, the Pavillon de la Rotonde, which is only about twenty minutes from Bellecour square, remains a place dear to the inhabitants of Lyon. Multiple formulae allow the fine local clientele and those of the hotel to take advantage of the Spa all year long and particularly for the weekend.

Away from the casino but near it, which means that things are kept separate while leaving every infrastructure accessible. A real place of relaxation and happiness as one is entitled to expect from the capital Des Gaules and its gastronomy.
