Can you believe it, the birthplace of the Bistro chair, champion of outdoor decoration, is in the Ain. They are made in a factory installed in a charming village full of flowers which sells, twice a month or so, its stocks, one can thus offer oneself the famous outdoor furniture at unbeatable prices. Let’s go there!

Fermob

What was formerly an ironwork workshop (it is a speciality in the region…) became one of the most specialized companies for garden furniture.

There, folding chairs, deckchairs, garden tables, stools, benches, footrests are made in more than twenty colors each one trendier than the next. In 2010, one swears only by the blue fjord and above all the paprika. A very, very hot red.

Everyone knows the Bistro chair, the Fermob star. It appears in three thousand examples in Bryant Park in Manhattan and it is equipped, for the occasion, with a tablet to put a laptop computer on and a small basket for soft drink cans. Carrie Bradshaw would love it!

Fermob

One can also find it in the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris, in the Harvard campus and everywhere outdoors where beauty and sturdiness are needed

This successful furniture is sold all over the world and Fermob, after Paris and Marseille, has even opened a shop in Munich, the most Southern of the German capitals.

So that outdoor lounge Fermob furniture continues to have this improbable success, numerous fashionable designers regularly review their look. Pascal Mourgue and Patrick Jouin as well as Andrée Putman who has just designed a collection of seats braided from safety belts. So trendy!

Last minute
Fermob has just got the Iso 14001 certification, very rapidly, (1 year instead of 3) for the recyclable metal of their furniture (and effectively recycled) endlessly, their ecological paints without solvent and the 100% capacity of recycling their textile components.
Twice a month or so, the Fermob factory retail their stock of products in Saint Didier-sur-Chalaronne.
