Beaujolais wine all over the world
19 Oct 2009
Tweet

On the twelve strokes of midnight on the third Thursday of November, one will taste the Beaujolais Nouveau at bars and in restaurants. And more particularly in the one hundred and thirty six Bistrot Beaujolais which can now be found throughout the world, with a preference for Lyon and its region.

Profiting from the release of Beaujolais Nouveau to enter into the great family of Bistrot Beaujolais where the famous vintage wine is celebrated with constancy and determination is a rather good idea. The ideal is, of course, to be lucky enough to be on the spot or near there, in the Beaujolais countryside and in Lyon, its capital.

Off to Theizé, to the restaurant La Feuillée, well situated in an attractive village built of golden stones, which are characteristic in this region, or to Villefranche, capital of Beaujolais, to the well named Central Caffe or even in La Poularde, at Chapelle-de-Guinchay. Everyone meets there, in simple bars or starred restaurants for the love of Beaujolais.

This year once more, five new beaujolais embassies have joined the twenty four premises already participating in Lyon. Next to mythical places such as Les Fédérations, one of the best bouchon of Lyon, the Olympic and also the Bouchon des Filles, run by female Beaujolais defenders.

The Bistrot Beaujolais are more than forty in Paris where there will be no ‘dregs’ to be had! and in New York there are twenty five of these pleasant places where conviviality is the magic word. Some of them have amusing names such as Le Père Pinard or Provence en Boîte.

In Chicago also, when he was a senator, Barack Obama would have been able to have lunch with a glass of Gamay in three bars in the city.

Every year in Lyon, they compete to get the Bistrot Beaujolais Coupe Lyonnaise and the winners, like the others, honor the reputation of what is not only a simple bar wine.

Alcohol abuse is dangerous to health !
