At first, it was the Pension du Chemin de Fer , built by Joseph Carrier in 1900. This was in addition to a grocer’s shop and a haberdashery. Six generations of Carrier, all chamoniards, all strong men, have been needed, to come to the Hameau Albert 1^st, composed of three chamoniard farms, rebuilt in the park around the former hotel which has been completely renovated.

It is the fifth generation who has started change. Pierre Carrier, talented Chef, crazy for skiing and mountains, heir of an ancestor guide who was killed in the Mont Blanc range and Martine, his wife, a former ski champion, have led the house towards the future.

At Carrier’s, no one has ever refused a bavante (climbing). It is Pierre Maillet, Perrine’s husband, one of 2 girls of the house (Isabelle is a climbing instructor) who follows the way opened by his father-in-law. His cuisine, rewarded with 2 Michelin stars, obtained by Pierre in 1999, explores the land of Savoie in all directions.

One can taste meals inspired by the cuisine of Piémont,Val d’Aoste and Comté de Nice. Both are in permanent search.

Perrine welcomes the clients takes care of their well-being and the cellar is rich with its nineteen thousand bottles. For a meal without fuss, one can even stay at the Maison Carrier, the Savoyard farm which proposes traditionnal menus from the mountains at angelic prices. As for the Spa Bachal, which means pond in local dialect, and the Quartz Bar, the Carrier show their willingness to remain anchored in their mineral universe.
