Gourmet Divonne facing Lake Geneva
07 Jan 2009
Tweet

Gastronomy is a magic word in the charming town of Divonne on the banks of Lake Geneva. You will enjoy yourselves in the Château de Divonne, in lovely dining rooms and in summer, on the terrace facing Mont Blanc, thanks to the cuisine of the young and talented chef Eric Manent. And all around, there are no less than 22 restaurants of every category. Enough to enjoy oneself!

Le Château de Divonne

Magnificently situated between Lake Geneva and the mountains of Jura, the town of Divonne has everything to please. With a thermal cure centre and its swimming pool of thermal water, balneotherapy, beauty treatments, Jacuzzi; numerous hotel complexes such as the Domaine de Divonne with restaurants, casino, golf, and all sorts of other activities, or even the Villa du Lac and its 600 m2 Spa. These are the multiple reasons for settling there for a long and restful stay.

But lovers of elegant old houses will particularly like the Château de Divonne, carefully restored at the beginning of the 19th century which has kept its magnificent parquet floors, its romantic frescoes and everything that makes up its charming faded beauty. The big terrace overlooking the huge plain of Lake Geneva and the Mont Blanc range is not the least of them.

Le Château de Divonne

The chef Eric Manent took over the kitchens since November 2006, after a passage in quite renowned restaurants of the Côte d’Azur. He successfully cooks regional products, but does not hesitate to give them a small point of a southern accent.

Moreover, he likes to recommend that his customers follow a cooking course in the Coulisses Gourmandes , of Dominique Roué, starred chef from the Michelin guide and who likes to pass on his knowledge to all the refined food lovers who have chosen Divonne.
