The Christmas market chalets are closed now. It’s time to report the results of the first edition of the Snow Games Jeux de Neige held at the beginning of December, destined to be part of a great event, just like Paris-Plage or Lyon Light Festival. But even so Grenoble is not asleep.
It is the moment to propose fun stays in the city, to every visitor setting off to Oisans and Vercors to enjoy the skiing. A short stop of two days, for example, to profit from one of the famous audio-guided visits proposed by Stendhal’s home town.
The stay can be completed with a hydro massage or a balneotherapy in Tendance Spa, one of the most attractive of the urban Spas; you can visit Grenoble Museum, considered throughout Europe for its art collections (dating from 13th till 19th century) with a complete area dedicated to 20th century.
A small tour to the fortified site, La Bastille by getting on the famous bubbles of the cable lift which are a characteristic of Grenoble, and allows one to discover the whole town, its roofs at one’s feet, but also all the surrounding mountain ranges, Chartreuse, Belledonne, Vercors …
Enough to give oneself an appetite and taste the new Grenobloise gastronomy totally revised for the past few years, with addresses such as Fantin Latour, the Brasserie Pignol in Sainte Cécile Convent, recently opened, and the starred restaurant Les Terrasses d’Uriage.
You just have got to stock up with local products, Chartreuse and walnut oil, among others …
