Golf in the country of a thousand ponds
18 Avr 2008

The charm of the Dombes and its ponds is bewitching and the golf courses of Rhône-Alpes offer multiple resources to improve one’s swing and discover new tourist and gastronomic curiosities.

The Gouverneur Golf course has always stood out by its dynamism, in such a nice region where ponds are innumerable and where the fauna and the flora are a part of the pleasures of the course.

You are just a stone’s throw from the famous Bird Park of Villars les Dombes, in a large migration corridor and one often makes a break to admire geese and duck landing on the surface of ponds like a water skier. It is a great moment.

Thus, on the initiative of the Gouverneur Golf course, all the golf resources of the Dombes have joined together with four golf clubs to create the new Golf Pass des Dombes , in continuity of the The Dombes from Par to Par .

The Gouverneur Golf course, is installed in the former dependences of the Château du Breuil and welcomes golfers in comfortable and air-conditioned rooms (among which, two are equipped with a Jacuzzi) open onto the golf course and a big garden at the edge of the swimming pool.

You just need now to take your irons, and discover the charms of the Golf de la Bresse, or the one of Mionnay and the Golf du Clou, involved in the adventure.

And to punctuate the days by following the Route des Dombes; by visiting Lyon, capital des Gaules; Pérouges, medieval city; the Beaujolais, its vineyards, hillsides and villages of golden stones; the village of the Saint Curé d’ Ars …

Without forgetting the local gastronomy, the Bresse chicken, the carps of the Dombes and of course frogs!
