The Michelin guide stars
Tweet

Lyon, capital of gastronomy
Michelin stars twinkle over Lyon, a city renowned as the capital of French gastronomy thanks to chefs such as Paul Bocuse.  Browse nearly 60 produce stalls in the Halles Paul Bocuse and to try the hearty fare of a traditional Lyonnais bouchon.

Patriotic chickens
With their white feathers, blue legs and red crest, Bresse chickens couldn’t be anything but French!  Awarded AOC quality status, they’re always on the menu of chef Georges Blanc, champion of Bresse cuisine, at his hotel and restaurants in Vonnas.

Tickle your tastebuds
You’ll get a great value local cuisine at any member of the Bistrots de Pays network.  But for a special occasion, try Maison Pic in Valence, run by Anne Sophie Pic, the only woman awarded 3 Michelin stars. On a budget?  Relax at her bistro, Le 7.

Fresh food for all budgets
Michelin-starred chef Michel Troisgros is the third generation to run the legendary Buffet de la Gare in Roanne, but you can still enjoy a great meal of fresh local produce at the humblest ferme auberge – washed down with some local wine of course!
